Updates make it all alive again
So, the last post was in 2008, now it’s January of 2011. It’s been a while.
I updated the wordpress version and the theme, also while I intend to hopefully keep a slow and steady stream of updates here, the import of the old posts accidentally all of the images. Oh well, they weren’t that important anyway. :)
you can never go home again, apart from visits
A nice surprise, I’m going to go back home to Finland on monday for a week. Gonna visit the family and friends. So if you are there, hook me up during the week and we’ll see each other.
I didn’t think I could afford to go home now after the California trip, but thank god for frequent flyer miles. Anyway, I’m hoping to eat some proper kebabs and rye bread and just generally see some cool stuff. Also might try and find a few things to purchase, since I can go and ask around properly in stores, as people will understand me. I’ll also try and shoot some videos if I catch anything interesting.
Just fearing the early flight, I have to get up at like 6:30 in the morning. I hope there’s no issues with the trains like last time when I needed to catch a flight.
Busy busy
Whaah, it’s been so hectic lately, don’t have the time to write anything here. Let’s recap what has happened:
- Fallout 3! – been playing that a lot and really liking it.
- Dead space – bought it here, as it said “french text” in the back. Of course you would assume that means subtitles and thus audio is in english? WRONG! Thank god I managed to sell it to a nice french person, so didn’t suffer huge losses. 20€ stupidity fine.
- Editing videos. California Day three / Blizzcon day 1 is now out, just 5 min before I wrote this. And I made a nub mistake with it, I feel so ashamed. Go read that post if you care.
- Not yet, but Lich King is out soon. So I guess I will have to play that again. So that means even less time for everything else. :D
What else. Work, sleep… I have a weeks vacation coming soon, but most likely I won’t do anything else than maybe play some games and so on. Still have an empty wallet since the california trip. But just wanted to make a little post here so that the feed doesn’t run dry.

Bike?

I need to buy a bike
Molten Core
Hehe, just played through Molten Core. Someone — well not someone, Tiros of Doomhammer US — made the April Fools joke come to life and recreated Molten Core from wow as an old Atari 2600 game, though only in looks. Still, the game is good fun and has the right attitude. Druids CAN solo Molten Core.

Raggy Soloed by druid - you heard it here first.
Now as I’m such a nice guy, I’ll host the game here for a while incase you want to download it too, as it’s currently only on fileplanet and you know how those services can be.

oh so this is jetlag
I never really believed in jetlag. But then again I never flew to the other side of the globe before. Going to LA wasn’t as bad, as while the trip took long, and also longer than the trip back, we arrived at the hotel close to midnight and went straight to bed. So that was all good.

Coming back though, it was horrible. It took several days to get over it, if I’m even over it now. Not to mention the fact that I probably got some nice little virus floating around from the 300 people in the plane, and I don’t feel that good at the moment. Thank god it’s now weekend again and I can try and relax and sleep and drink plenty of warm tea.
Over all, the trip was amazing. I’m finding it a bit hard to write stuff about it now, partly because there’s a lot of stuff I can’t talk about, and partly because it’s all still like a big ball of cluttered yarn in my head. Maybe when I get the video footage done and I can relive some of the moment and locations, I can write something more down. Or maybe the video will be enough. Anyway, that’s gonna be over at Onevice.com once it’s available.

There would have probably been some video released already, but this trip and technology just didn’t seem to mix well. First of all the wireless internet at the hotel, while free, was the crappiest quality of connection that I’ve used. There was no way to use a flash uploader for a 60 meg video to Vimeo using that connection. Then when I got home, one of the hard drives seems to be broken, and I still need to get the backup from Kris again, before I can start working on it. But hopefully that will be soon.
For now, I gotta go make some Warm Soothing Tea [TM] and unload my clean fresh american tee-shirts that I bought and now washed.

Meh, it’s open
Not as grand as I had plans for, but time was running out, as I needed it to be done before I leave for California. So there it is now, nothing much changed from since I’ve been talking about it design wise, but there’s the actual content there now. I wanted to have a cool opening video, and I thought my idea was good. I just didn’t have the time or the clarity of mind during the night to make it happen. Perhaps I’ll hang on to it and do it later.
Anyway, it’s time to go get some rest soon, and then tomorrow is all about packing and preparing. Oh yeah, and new I need to make sure all my gadgets are fully charged for the trip.
