"can I build a nuclear submarine?" "be my guest, hah! 'he's so childish, where's he gonna put it'"
I really think this comic should come out in english. Finland seems to be really big recently in finally pushing artists of all types to go out into the world and make us famous. It doesn’t need to be just HIM and The Rasmus and Kimi. Why not this? It’s the type of comedy that would probably translate well into most of the western world, and if you remove the few strips where there’s nudity, you could sell it to kids in the Americas too.
I just came to think of it, I was reading them while having an msn conversation with somone who doesn’t read finnish. I was giggling and then just like a reflex I pasted him the link. Then blinked a few times and quickly translated it to him. I admit, the comic strip is quirky and finnish humoer is quirky, but a few of them were really funny.
It MAKES.SENSE. Do it Juba!
Make your voices heard people! We need Wagner in English!!
(unless of course it already is and I just didn’t know about it :D )
All the peeps are already annoyed with me. Well, I guess not, it’s not been that long. I’ve only known for sure I’m going for two days.
Blizzcon 08
Anyway, I’m going to Los Angeles, CA and Anaheim in October. I’m going there to participate in Blizzcon 08, held at the Anaheim convention center 10th-11th of October. That’s the so called official reason. But I guess you could think of it as a good excuse as I’ve never been to the states and I’m dying to go there. A week in LA, it’s gonna be sweet.
I’ll be taking a camera and my video camera with me, so expect to see something release right after that. It’s also sort of the deadline now for Onevice.com. Or at least now I made it the deadline. Depending on all the stuff I get the film there and permissions I get to publish it afterwards, there might be something worth seeing.
The flights have now been booked, the hotel is reserved. Everything on that side is done. I’m sort of worried a little bit about my passport. I contacted the Finnish embassy here in Paris, they said that if you have a valid passport issued before some date in 2006, you can use it to go there without a visa or anything. Let’s hope so. Nothing could be worse than being stuck at the airport, not being let into the country. I’m still concidering to go and get a new passport issued, that would likely at least set my mind at ease.
Also, I’m going to have to make new purchases before the trip to my budding equipment pile. I’ll let you know more if and when I buy them and they arrive.
**Edit: To commemorate this glorious event, I have also placed my public google calendar on a page that’s visible. You can find it by clicking the Calendar on the top menu or that word that was just highlighted.
(most of the stuff is in finnish there, I will work on getting it all to ennglish and also there’s might be some stuff that shouldn’t be there. :D)
Well, actually I just took it offline for now. Perhaps in an attempt to remind me to concentrate and not just watch TV all the time. So many projects that I should be working on, but TV is just so much easier.
As a side note, the brushes used in the picture are freely available, I found them through smashingmagazine.com. Feel free to browse, they have some really cool stuff available there for free too.
Also, I’m not really satisfied with this theme, I kinda do like the look, but the fact that I can’t add stuff to it, like widgets makes me a sad panda. Maybe I’ll just be too lazy, or at least leave it until last to fix.
Soo.. I just registered this new domain, maybe I’ll have more time now to start keeping a blog again.
I know I had big plans for this when I moved to France, but then.. Didn’t have time during work, and to be fair, I can’t really talk about work, so what else is there… Sad, isn’t it.
Anyway, I have to setup this site a bit more, and I have to do the page for www.pinkkis.com as well as redo the onevice.com site where this blog used to be. After that I might be updating a bit more frequently.
Also, I imported the old finnish posts from the old blog here, just to save them and not to lose all my pretty marbles.
